What Christmas Present would you like to get?

Hello everyone! Today I am going to write about the present would I like to get. I've been thinking about this, because Christmas is coming...and I wish many things, not necessary material things.

One of this things is a familiar dinner. Every year, in the night before 12:00 am, my parents make a dinner with many salads and meat. My mom put on the table a tablecloth with Christmas motif and my dad prepare the meat. This year is different, because my parents are divorced and is the last Christmas together. This is a reason, because it's important to me this dinner.

The other thing that I would like to get is a blender. A blender is a electrical appliance used to separate the fruit pulp for make juice. It's very simple. Why I want it? because in my house it has never been one! And I need one for make fruit juice.

I think is very possible that my mom gives me one, because I say everyday: Mom...I wish a blender...someday...maybe...you...give me...one. 

Well...I think that if the dinner does not happen, I will be very sad...Who will be happy in this situation?, but I wait for the dinner and I don't think that it is canceled. And about the blender, I will be sad, but not much, I say is sad because I get one, but is not the end of the world.

Summer Plans

Hi everyone! Today I'm going to write about places I want to go in summer. This summer, I want to go to beaches in the Litoral Central, like Cartagena, San Sebastian, El Quisco, El Canelillo and also visit Valparaiso. All this year I wanted to visit other places outside Santiago like beaches or ports, but for things of time I can't do it. 

I'm going to go with my family or my boyfriend or with both! I will like with them, because I don't want to travel alone...is very sad and also because I need time with the people I love. Last summer I went with my friends to San Sebastian and this travel was very funny! but this year I don't have time for other things outside the university and I have lost the communication with my best friends :( 

Really I have not thought about activities, but maybe in next weeks I'll think some.

Like nothing is free in this world...if I want to travel I will have money, for this reason I think work in the first month of holidays in some place, like cashier in a shop of fast food or as a saleswoman in a clothes store. Later, I will collect all the money and make a plan about what kinds of things can I do with this money and for how long time.

All summers I say: this holiday I'm going to study some things or I'll read some books, but this never happens...So I don't want to say things that I forget in a next minutes or next weeks. Today, the only thing that I can say with security is: This summer I'm going to work, travel to outside Santiago and I'm going to sleep so much...I'm very tired. 

Favourite piece of Art: "The starry night"

Hi everyone! Today I want to write about my favourite piece of art, in this case, one paint: The Starry Night. It's painter was Vincent van Gogh, he was a Post-Impressionist dutch painter. The Post-Impressionist is a predominant in French art movement. He use wet oil painting and fines paints brush."The Starry Night" in one of the most monuments in the history of the Western culture. 

This piece of art was painted on June of 1889 in one room of the asylum Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. It represent the view from one window of the room. The element could you see (or you could connect with the reality) are: a big sun and little "stars" of the yellow colour, one mountain or something like that, many houses surrounded by hills. Its a very strange painting.

I like this painting because I like the technique, colour and forms and also because it expresses many things like a dream. The colours more recurrent are black, blue, light blue, green and yellow, but all are mix in the painting and have differents tones.

In this moment you can see this painting in Museum of Modern Art in New York city. Maybe, this painting is the most famous work of van Gogh and many people know that.

A photograph I like

Hello everyone! Today I will write about one photo that I like: My birthday number twenty. My sister took this photo...she took every photos this day, is a fanatic to the camera and "artistic" photos.

In this picture we are my mother and me in our home. I was so happy this day, because my family gift me my favorite cake: Selva Negra. In the photo you see me with my mom and you see the beautiful candles in the cake.

This photo was taken on 5th August of this year, in the afternoon. I remember that morning, I went to the university very sad, because only my mom and my little brother told me "Happy Birthday! When I wake up, I thought my sister and my dad had forgotten my birthday...because they only told me: "Bye" when I go out to the house. But in the afternoon, my dad and my brothers gift me a present and they told me: "Sorry...Happy Birthday!".

I like this photo because I see myself happy and the candles lights our faces and stand out the moment. I think the most important in a birthday is stay with family or friends and special cake. The cake is a symbol of this festivity.

A super power I would like to have

Hello everyone! Today I write about to a super power I would like to have, this is Teleportation power, this ability means the teleport from one place to another in a second. I would like to have this power because I could know to any place I want to be in the speed of light. If I would to have this power, I would be everytime in another places and probably I see problems in the streets for example. people fighting, accidents, etc., so I would find the way of help the people. I imagine a shooting in the street and children close to this conflict, so I take the children and teleport them to another place safe. The negative effects will be the confusing of the people to see me in a one place and in a one moment see me in another place, in reality no one can travel so fast, so this power plays with time and space. I would use this power for good...I mean I will help to people, like a Super hero, but only help to poor people and children, for example I steal money from the banks and I teleport to poor cities....the rich people hate me, but it is the price to save the good people.

A country I'd like to visit

Hello! Today I will write about a country I'd like to visit. I want to travel around the world and visit so many countries, but always I think I should to start in Latinoamerica and the first country that I want to know is Ecuador. I choose this country as my first option, because I was hear good things about Ecuador, like that many places to know, the food is cheap and you don't need be rich for enjoy the travel, the people is very nice with the tourist and the people is different to Chile is so much sociable, but the special place I want to know (and is a more expensive to go) is The Islas Galápagos, the island where live ancestrals turtles, different species of iguanas and others animals very interesting for me.

When I go to Ecuador, the first thing I will do is visit to city to see the iguanas walking free in the streets, this is a new for me! In Chile is usual see dogs and cats, but not this type of animals! Second, I will eat any popular kind of food, I don't know what is the typical food in Ecuador, but there is a good moment to know that. Later, my special objective: go to Islas Galápagos. I imagine this place like beautiful beach with many rocks and over there the old turtles of many colours and type.

I would like to imagine possibility to live in a different country and Ecuador is a good option, but I think to I will miss to my family, my friends and my country, so only visit Ecuador the time of travel and I will search the second country to visit in the future.

A movie that I love and a movie that I hate

Hello!! Today I wanna write about that movie that I love...and the movie that I hate.

I love watch movies, all kinds of movies, especially accion, drama and terror, but one movie that marked a before and after was V for Vendetta. This movie it's based on a comic that the same name and the first time I saw I was fifteen years old and I loved her from the first moment!! I think this movie is all my ideals. This film is about the man with the singular mask of a important historical character in this country (England): Guy Fawkes, that man many years ago try to burn the council to consider it corrupt and nothing fair. This is the reason that this man use that mask. And the movie it's based in a dystopia, where the state with a advice used biological weapond to remove political opponents...I think this is not far from our reality.

I' ve seen many films, but one that I hate, and I sleep soundly when it appears on Tv is Crepúsculo. What movie so bad!! Boring , unexciting , with bad performances ... has it all!! I can not there are people who loves this movie...I have not read the book and I think with this example of movie... I never will read this!!

Indigenous community triumphs in suspending mining operations

Hi!, today I will write about an article of The Santiago Times. It's entitled: "Indigenous community triumphs in suspending mining operations", article published on October, 2014. Link: http://santiagotimes.cl/indigenous-community-triumphs-in-suspending-mining-operations/

This article says about the conflict of the communities of North of Chile with the mine of the corporation Goldcorp. What is the conflict? is about the contamination produced by extraction of minerals, in mines by foreign corporations, in others words, relates with ecological damage for example in rivers and contamination of water and also says about the invasion in the "sacred land" of the Diaguitas.

Why is this importart to Anthropology? Because it's about of indigenous community and your relation with the land, water and territory. Also is important to this discipline, because is a theoretical problem expressed in reality.

I think that this article is mainly informative and no contains references to experts in the field, but  tells about an unknown topic for many people and is a notice so much important (in my opinion) that other things that give on TV or newspapers.

Every picture tells a story...

San Antonio, Región de Valparaíso, 2015

This picture is of my holydays of this year with my best friends. The story behind this picture is very comic. In the summer, we all work so hard xD for become here. We were in the house of one of my friends in San Antonio for two weeks. 

This day, we outside to visit the "Cueva del Pirata", but we were wait 1 hour for visit...so we decided to get something to eat while waiting. There was a place where they sold empanadas and drinks so we bought five...and waited.

We have so much hungry!!! But were not ready the empanadas. We waited half and hour, and my boyfriend say: I'm going  to claim...and we were all annoying >:(. Short story: the empanadas never arrived :(. We asked money back..and the "Cueva del Pirata" was history, the hunger was bigger!!

Later, We laughed at what happened...we were waiting a long time for nothing xD, but the good point is that we take us many photos at the edge of rockery :)

So....every day it happened every story....Were a nice holidays.

A video clip that I like

When I was small child I saw this video for first time and I didn’t understand anything of the music and nothing of the video. Because this my sister and I were afraid to see this video for the part of the childrens falling into the meat grinde. Now I understand this part of video, but my sister prefers not to see that video again, Is a trauma for she xD

Whatever, after when I was so much older (adolescent) I heard this song again with the video, but I do not undertand completely the word of the song. Now, and in the past in the school, I know this great band, Pink Floyd, and this band become in one of my favorites with your song and video "Another Brick in the Wall”.

A small confession: I don’t believe in this Time, I still have not seen this movie of This Song :( This year I promise see that.

My favorite piece of technology

Hello, today I will talk about my favorite piece of technology: my portable computer.

I got this laptop since two year ago, is a gift of my parents in Christmas.They think that I need one for University. I never was fan of the technology, but I know the computer and the technology is very important today for read the e-mails and write reports in the school, job and university, and others activities.

I use my laptop everyday, for write reports and also I use Facebook...in this web I lost my time everyday. I often use to for watch videos in Youtube and watch movies.

I like my laptop, principally because is a present for my parents and also because is a very good work tool in this days is very necesary the technology for many activities.

I don't imagine my life without my laptop...is difficult imagine my world without technology in this days, but in spite of everything, I miss to be stay at the outdoors.

My expectations for this semester

In the academic...this semester I have eight subjects, I don't like all but I have to try to attend all classes. This semester, the topics of subjects is about the language and the relationships. Sometimes I get bored with so many theory, but others days I can find the interesting side.

The extracurriculars subjects is a only one, but is not sport and artistic, is a subject about discussions of the ethnic groups and the genre. It's interesting.

I don't do others activities in the university, but outside I go to a collective in a La Bandera. I try to go all the saturdays, in the morning. In this place, I work with little childs. Sometimes for example, I have to play with them...this is a very exhausting, but also is very entertaining.

My expects for this semester, in first place is pass all subjects and improve in the more difficults and in second place I want to enjoy the classes and participate in new activities.

My Biography

Some things about me...

My name is Génesis Maribel Pozo Castro. I’m 19 years old. I was born in Quinta Normal, but I live in La Granja since I'm 3 years old. I live with my parents, my brother, my sister and our pets. My father is Electrician and my mother is worker in a Factory. My birthday is on August 5, so my zodiacal sign is Leo.

I started to study Anthropology in 2014 in the Universidad de Chile. I choose this career in the last year of secondary school, before I wanted to study Law, but I didn't like the subjects of the curriculum. I like Anthropology, but in the future I want to be a teacher of Filosophy, even I don't know why.

In my free time, I like to read books of terror or mystery and I like to listen to music. My favourite kind of music is a rock, metal (some bands) and alternative rock (grunge) and my favourite band is a the best of de world: The Doors. In my mind, I have so much ideas for I will do in my free time, but usually; I sleep every day or I go to my friends and my boyfriend to play pool.

I love to eat cakes, cookies, and every things with much sugar. My favourite cake is Selva Negra.

In the future, I wil travel to so much countries and eat so much cakes.
