Favourite piece of Art: "The starry night"

Hi everyone! Today I want to write about my favourite piece of art, in this case, one paint: The Starry Night. It's painter was Vincent van Gogh, he was a Post-Impressionist dutch painter. The Post-Impressionist is a predominant in French art movement. He use wet oil painting and fines paints brush."The Starry Night" in one of the most monuments in the history of the Western culture. 

This piece of art was painted on June of 1889 in one room of the asylum Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. It represent the view from one window of the room. The element could you see (or you could connect with the reality) are: a big sun and little "stars" of the yellow colour, one mountain or something like that, many houses surrounded by hills. Its a very strange painting.

I like this painting because I like the technique, colour and forms and also because it expresses many things like a dream. The colours more recurrent are black, blue, light blue, green and yellow, but all are mix in the painting and have differents tones.

In this moment you can see this painting in Museum of Modern Art in New York city. Maybe, this painting is the most famous work of van Gogh and many people know that.

A photograph I like

Hello everyone! Today I will write about one photo that I like: My birthday number twenty. My sister took this photo...she took every photos this day, is a fanatic to the camera and "artistic" photos.

In this picture we are my mother and me in our home. I was so happy this day, because my family gift me my favorite cake: Selva Negra. In the photo you see me with my mom and you see the beautiful candles in the cake.

This photo was taken on 5th August of this year, in the afternoon. I remember that morning, I went to the university very sad, because only my mom and my little brother told me "Happy Birthday! When I wake up, I thought my sister and my dad had forgotten my birthday...because they only told me: "Bye" when I go out to the house. But in the afternoon, my dad and my brothers gift me a present and they told me: "Sorry...Happy Birthday!".

I like this photo because I see myself happy and the candles lights our faces and stand out the moment. I think the most important in a birthday is stay with family or friends and special cake. The cake is a symbol of this festivity.

A super power I would like to have

Hello everyone! Today I write about to a super power I would like to have, this is Teleportation power, this ability means the teleport from one place to another in a second. I would like to have this power because I could know to any place I want to be in the speed of light. If I would to have this power, I would be everytime in another places and probably I see problems in the streets for example. people fighting, accidents, etc., so I would find the way of help the people. I imagine a shooting in the street and children close to this conflict, so I take the children and teleport them to another place safe. The negative effects will be the confusing of the people to see me in a one place and in a one moment see me in another place, in reality no one can travel so fast, so this power plays with time and space. I would use this power for good...I mean I will help to people, like a Super hero, but only help to poor people and children, for example I steal money from the banks and I teleport to poor cities....the rich people hate me, but it is the price to save the good people.

A country I'd like to visit

Hello! Today I will write about a country I'd like to visit. I want to travel around the world and visit so many countries, but always I think I should to start in Latinoamerica and the first country that I want to know is Ecuador. I choose this country as my first option, because I was hear good things about Ecuador, like that many places to know, the food is cheap and you don't need be rich for enjoy the travel, the people is very nice with the tourist and the people is different to Chile is so much sociable, but the special place I want to know (and is a more expensive to go) is The Islas Galápagos, the island where live ancestrals turtles, different species of iguanas and others animals very interesting for me.

When I go to Ecuador, the first thing I will do is visit to city to see the iguanas walking free in the streets, this is a new for me! In Chile is usual see dogs and cats, but not this type of animals! Second, I will eat any popular kind of food, I don't know what is the typical food in Ecuador, but there is a good moment to know that. Later, my special objective: go to Islas Galápagos. I imagine this place like beautiful beach with many rocks and over there the old turtles of many colours and type.

I would like to imagine possibility to live in a different country and Ecuador is a good option, but I think to I will miss to my family, my friends and my country, so only visit Ecuador the time of travel and I will search the second country to visit in the future.

A movie that I love and a movie that I hate

Hello!! Today I wanna write about that movie that I love...and the movie that I hate.

I love watch movies, all kinds of movies, especially accion, drama and terror, but one movie that marked a before and after was V for Vendetta. This movie it's based on a comic that the same name and the first time I saw I was fifteen years old and I loved her from the first moment!! I think this movie is all my ideals. This film is about the man with the singular mask of a important historical character in this country (England): Guy Fawkes, that man many years ago try to burn the council to consider it corrupt and nothing fair. This is the reason that this man use that mask. And the movie it's based in a dystopia, where the state with a advice used biological weapond to remove political opponents...I think this is not far from our reality.

I' ve seen many films, but one that I hate, and I sleep soundly when it appears on Tv is Crepúsculo. What movie so bad!! Boring , unexciting , with bad performances ... has it all!! I can not there are people who loves this movie...I have not read the book and I think with this example of movie... I never will read this!!

Well, this is my humble opinion.

Indigenous community triumphs in suspending mining operations

Hi!, today I will write about an article of The Santiago Times. It's entitled: "Indigenous community triumphs in suspending mining operations", article published on October, 2014. Link: http://santiagotimes.cl/indigenous-community-triumphs-in-suspending-mining-operations/

This article says about the conflict of the communities of North of Chile with the mine of the corporation Goldcorp. What is the conflict? is about the contamination produced by extraction of minerals, in mines by foreign corporations, in others words, relates with ecological damage for example in rivers and contamination of water and also says about the invasion in the "sacred land" of the Diaguitas.

Why is this importart to Anthropology? Because it's about of indigenous community and your relation with the land, water and territory. Also is important to this discipline, because is a theoretical problem expressed in reality.

I think that this article is mainly informative and no contains references to experts in the field, but  tells about an unknown topic for many people and is a notice so much important (in my opinion) that other things that give on TV or newspapers.

Every picture tells a story...

San Antonio, Región de Valparaíso, 2015

This picture is of my holydays of this year with my best friends. The story behind this picture is very comic. In the summer, we all work so hard xD for become here. We were in the house of one of my friends in San Antonio for two weeks. 

This day, we outside to visit the "Cueva del Pirata", but we were wait 1 hour for visit...so we decided to get something to eat while waiting. There was a place where they sold empanadas and drinks so we bought five...and waited.

We have so much hungry!!! But were not ready the empanadas. We waited half and hour, and my boyfriend say: I'm going  to claim...and we were all annoying >:(. Short story: the empanadas never arrived :(. We asked money back..and the "Cueva del Pirata" was history, the hunger was bigger!!

Later, We laughed at what happened...we were waiting a long time for nothing xD, but the good point is that we take us many photos at the edge of rockery :)

So....every day it happened every story....Were a nice holidays.
